Last year, my dear grandmother departed this world. Being in New York, I could not attend the funeral in Japan, which would have taken place within a few days. I created an artwork as a memorial to convey my feelings of regret and gratitude. This creation served as a means of catharsis, aiding me in processing emotions of sadness and regret. The artwork portrays my grandmother's spirit peacefully and gracefully ascending to heaven, resembling a dragon. It also envisions her reuniting with my grandfather in heaven, a representation of their long-awaited reunion.
